Corel PaintShop Photo Project Creator
I've tried twice to install Project Creator and both times I've received an error message "uvGGPL.exe - Application Error" about an instruction that could not be read. The install program is terminated but then it says it was successfully installed. When I try any of the projects though, I am unable to access any photos. Only Desktop and My Computer shows in the folders list. Anyone else having a problem with Project Creator?
I'm using the install disc that was sent for my upgrade. I'm disappointed that the "Boxed" version contained only a disc, no packaging or manual. I should have saved the $9 shipping and went with the download option.

Re: Corel PaintShop Photo Project Creator
No problems with installation here, but it's extremely slow and very user unfriendly. I will not be using it.PRCoach wrote: Anyone else having a problem with Project Creator?

Mine doesn't work...it installed okay (I guess) but there is no way to enter media. When I click on the "my computer" icon, it doesn't show any of my hard-drives--or (duh) subfolders holding photos. I also can't imagine what I would use it for so I didn't bother sending Corel a blerb that it appears to have a bug (although I did for PSPX3)

As with some other posts on this topic the installaion of PSP X3 had a problem toward the end on its installation on a Vista system. The installer, however, indicatedk that the installation completed successfully.
Project Creator does not permit any file or directory access beyond the top level. It is difficult to imagine that a product could be released with such a fundamental problem.
Hopefully this problem will be resolved with a patch sometime soon.

I have it working on Vista and Windows 7, and with the Vista machine I can't get PSP X3 to run at all. But I gotta tell ya from what I've seen it's a waste of programing. I wanted to create a slideshow out of photos and it's so slow, cumbersome, and unintuitive to start with then if you have more than one audio track to play it will say that it's going to play the second track but it just won't.
It doesn't show the timeline in any real semblance of anything that's related to anything and you can't mix and match fades at all. In the end Windows Movie Maker was a far superior product and it's free to begin with. It has more fades, can allow for multiple audio tracks, can end the audio track where you want it too, has page effects, can mix and match all for free from Microsofts website (shocking I know that Microsoft offers something for free that's actually good at something). From what I've read the regular Movie Maker is better than the Windows Live Movie Maker but they are both usable.
I've looked at the other things like making calendars or cards but most printing services want you to use their templates so that's pretty much a waste.
Uploading things to Facebook, Flickr and YouTube.... big woop.
I'm sorry but this is a turd of a program that uses up disk space for no reason. If it doesn't work for you please don't feel that bad, it's a disappointing program when it does work.

I'm using Windows 7 64 bit. I have discovered Corel PaintShop Photo Project Creator will list photos, videos, etc., if I use any drive other than C:\
I have administrator rights, and have set the Windows 7 "Libraries" access rights. But when I try to use a Windows 7 Library there is a momentary flash of the Project Creator hour glass but no files show up. Any other drive (and I have three other drives on my PC) works fine.
However, now that I can make Project Creator actually find files, I'm underwhelmed.

The download doesn't give you the option to install just PSP X3 without the Project Creator. The disk (boxed version) does. I don't know about uninstalling, but you can install just X3 without that. It also lets you install Painter Essentials Photo 4 seperately, but that's true with the download as well.Hooterville wrote:Can this thing be uninstalled by it's self?
I'm thinking about getting rid of this mess myself.
