Open Most Recently Used Project doesn't list it

Post by Brain Champagne »

Every day or so I rename my project, so I can go back to an earlier version if something goes wrong.

Under File, it lists most recently-used files, but it doesn't list THE most recently saved one.

Is there a way to fix this rather serious error? If I don't pay attention I could end up opening a file that's an earlier draft, assuming it contains changes that aren't there.

This is a feature of most versions of VS. You need to Click Open and seek your project in your file system at least once before it appears in the drop down window when you click File. Don't know why but this has come up time and time again. It's just part of the "fun" of VS

Hi Brain

It doesn't use the original saved project, and as John mentioned you have to open the project first before the project shows in the list of 4.
Whether you have to re-save it again is debatable.
Sometimes I feel you have to repeat the process before you see the quick launch option.

Even so its a little annoying, and i usually use the Open Project option
