Find activation code in X3?

Post by metmot »

I bought x3 and corel e mailed me a serial number along with the download link. I saved the program after downloading and the serial number but I do not recall seeing the dialog to save my activation number to file when installing the program. If it was there I missed it. Is there a way to see the activation code so I can record it in case I need to reinstall the program at some point? I am not seeing where I can get the program to cough up that info for me. It may be simple and I'm just a dummy. Thanks!

I believe the activation code is only used when you are activating a trial version. The serial # is used when you install a full version. I did not receive any option to save my serial #, as I already have it.

Here's how to enter the activation code:

- click the Help icon in the upper right corner
- click the Product Information and preferences 'gears'
- click 'Buy now'
- click 'Already Purchased'
- enter activation code

But to be clear, the activation code only applies to the TBYB version, NOT/NOT the full download version, which only requires the serial number on installation...

Thanks guys, that explains it to me.

I just got paranoid to make sure I have everything I need to reinstall it if ever needed without having to contact Corel. I've heard that can be an adventure.

I created a sticky post for this a few days ago

Install and Activate VSX3 TBYB.
In fact I think I will alter the name and drop the TBYB from the title.

I know, it was that post of yours that made me paranoid as for whatever reason I didn't understand activation code was only for TBYB. It's all clear to me now :)

Sorry for making you paranoid, I have included a new first paragraph in addition to changing the title. Hopefully it will make it a bit more clear.

I'm relieved to learn that you changed the first paragraph when I went back and read it.

I was thinking please god don't tell me I'm that slow I couldn't understand this the last time I read it  Tell me it's changed!!

Thanks Steve
