Sizing and measurements

Post by iantresman »

I've drawn a vector circle on a background. Now I want to change its size to exactly 300 pixels high/wide, and position its center on the page, at exactly 400px,400px.

Where can I set the exact size of a shape?
Where can I set its exact position?

The only measurements I see, are on the status bar in the bottom right corner, which shows the cursor position, and a rectangle's size when I'm drawing it.

This is something that Corel could do a lot better. If they would use some of Coreldraw workings, it would make things so much easier..

However you can do what you're desiring to do in PSPP. Look at the Properties bar at the top for your Circle. You should see Radius-X and a Radius-Y. Of course Radius is ½ of the diameter. So you're wanting a circle that has the diameter of 300px. So ½ of that would 150, enter 150 in each of the Radius property boxes. Now you should have a 300px diameter circle.

Next is aligning the circle. Go to your Pick tool, select your circle, then up at the top, on the properties bar, find Position on Canvas. Hovering your mouse over each one will tell you what it does. The left-most is to Center-align on the Canvas.

Now you should have your 300px circle positioned at the center of your canvas..
