Text has been added to several of the slides which looks ok when it is added but when i create the slideshow movie the text is poor quality and quite pixalated..I have created the slideshow in high quality, can anyone help me so that my text has a nice crisp finish.

Thanks!

I use a Photodex product for slideshows typically but I created a slide show in Movie Factory with 4 slides, a mp3 track & some text on one of the slides and rendered it out as a...
MPEG 2
24 bits, 720 x 480 29.97 fps
Frame Based
Variable frame rate Max 7000 k
LPCM audio, 48K Stereo

The text looked good to me.
The 1:45 long show was just under 90 mb. This file size seemed big but it resulted in very good text definition. I suspect you could bring some of the settings down, there by reducing the file size with minimal text degradation.

What are the settings that you are using?
MSP 7/8 | VS 8/11.5 | DVD MF 2/3.5/4/7 Pro | VGL 1 | PI-X3 | Painter Essentials 3 | Audacity | Pinnacle Studio DV/7/8/10 | Adobe CS2, PS, PE, AE | PhotoDex Producer 9.0 | ACDSee 9 | Nikon S8100 |

Thanks for the reply, my settings are:

MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 576, 25 fps
Frame-based
(DVD-PAL), 4:3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 7000 kbps)
Audio data rate: 224 kbps
MPEG audio layer 2, 48 KHz, Stereo

The slideshow looks ok on screen but the text comes out in poor quality on the finished video..

How are you viewing your finished video, Std TV, HD TV, Computer, etc. If computer or HD what is the resolution?
Also what is your finished product, DVD, VCD, SVCD, Mpeg File, etc?

Hi,

I am viewing the output on a projector and i saved the file as a .vob file so i think that is dvd right? I have my laptop connected to the projector, laptop resolution is set to 1024 x 768 with extended desktop for the projector.

Interesting...
The projector / Laptop resolution is higher than the .vob file. In my experience, this isn't typically a big deal as the image is stretched with little degradation.
Are you burning a DVD disc with the vob file & then running the DVD disc through a video player on your PC? Or are you are simply double clicking the .vob file & viewing it with a video player software that has been dragged to the secondary monitor (projector)? Maybe you are importing the vob into some other software say Easyworship & playing it through that software. Or maybe some other method.
Please describe...

Hi,

I am using Easislides which is a program very similar to Easyworsip to view the .vob file directly from the VIDEO_TS folder that i have created on my hard drive, this is then sent to the projector. I have also hooked my laptop up to my LCD TV which is a max of 1366 x 768 resolution and i still don't have clear text using that..

EasiSlides, that's new to me. But great piece of software especially for the price. Thanks for the tip!
Are you expecting the text to be as clear as the over-laid text as depicted by EasiSlide when you are displaying song lyrics?
I don't think you'll ever get that kind of clarity from a video file. You may be able to get closer than what you are seeing with the vob file by exporting your Movie Factory slide show as a mpeg with higher resolution.
You can "export" your slide show through Movie Factory. Here are some basic instructions...
Create or open your slideshow with Movie Factory.
While still in the "Add Media" tab, (Not the "Menu & Preview" or "Output" tabs) right click on 1 of the thumbnails that are displayed on the lower portion of the software window.
You will notice that "Export Video" is 1 of the choices that is available.
Select "Export Video" & then "Customize..."
In the window that opens select "Options".
Select the "Compression" tab.
Select the "Media Type" & select "MPEG 2" from the list of types available.
To increase quality by decreasing compression, move the slider towards the ¡§Quality¡¨ end.
Now Select the "General" tab.
You will find here that now that you have changed the Media Type from PAL (or NTSC) DVD to MPEG 2 that you have many more choices under the "Frame Size", "Standard" list.
Select one of the higher resolution frame sizes, "1280 x" or "1440 x" or "1920 x".
"Okay" your way out of the options window & render your video at this new higher resolution. It will take longer & result in a larger file size than it did when you created a vob file but it will also increase the quality of the image / text.

Post back how this works for you.
