Video Studio X3 ERROR!!!

Post by Cauptain »

Hello all

I'm using the demo version of the V3 and after the installation, run command when this error appears below:

---------------------------
Corel VideoStudio Pro
---------------------------
Error: 1 - Corel VideoStudio files have been damaged or modified. Please reinstall your original source.
---------------------------
OK

How can I fix this?

I did all known procedures and nothing.

the VX2 works normally here. What can be?

Did "all known procedures" include uninstalling and reinstalling from your original downloaded TBYB installation file?

Yes Ken.

I download 2x the "VSX3_Pro_TBYB.exe" from Ulead site.

That error is from Protexis Licensing. Corel uses it to help thwart piracy. It must be running. Check the Services on your PC, to make sure it is. Right-click on the Computer icon on your desktop, select Manage. Then in the Computer Management window, in the Left pane, click the + beside Services and Applications to expand it. Then select Services. Now look in the right pane, and scroll down to find Protexis Licensing. Make sure it shows Started, and the Start up type should be Automatic.

If Protexis is not running you will get the error that you're seeing. It's misleading, but no files have been damaged.

Hi all,

I purchased this software on Friday and had exactly the same problem. It took me a while (all weekend) to figure it out but I had the advantage of installing the program onto a clean PC - ie, no other software, so it was a process of elimination to find the culprit.

The culprit - surprise surprise, my Antivirus program. I'm running Panda Cloud Antivirus and thankfully it can be switched off - unlike AVG which I used to run. As soon as I switched on the AV program - all heck broke loose with VS Pro X3, as soon as I switched it off - no problems with all modules running sweet. :D In fact, if you switch on the AV program while VS is running, it'll most likely cause the PC to crash - blue screen, memory dump, the whole shebang.

I'm now enjoying the wonders of exploring the many functions of VS Pro X3.....now all I wish is to be able to choose NTSC or PAL with a click of a mouse....

I hope this info helps someone out there.

I'm happy to say that that does not happen with Eset Nod 32 on this computer; or Norton 360 on another computer...
