Where is it?

Post by pepegota »

I just started using VS Pro X3 and I cannot find the animations. They were located under decorations with sub categories: Objects, Frames, and Flash Animations in the X2 version. I bought the boxed version, but no user's manual. The online help states: To add a Flash Animation:
1. From the drop down Graphic Library, select Flash Animation.
The only problem is there is no Graphic Library to be found, unless I am missing something. This is not good! Please help.

Also, I downloaded and installed an Incentive pak when I registered the product. What does it do? Cannot find anything in VS Pro X3 related to it? Another Corel mystery.

Click on the Graphics Library. The color clip library opens first. Click on the drop down to reveal the choices for Objects, Frames and Flash Animations.

Fortunately, having computer skills, I was able to create folders in the program's video, photo and sound libraries, and hijack the desired files from the VS sample folder. In addition, adding some other selected entries from other sources. Now, I have what I want-no thanks to Corel. This is not the way to treat the public, especially those who are not computer smart and cannot improvise.
Thanks for your input.

But have you not got the six vertically aligned icons situated between the Preview pane and the library pane. Th top one is Media, then Transitions then Titles then GRAHIC then Fiter then Audio. Click the down arrow of Graphic to reveal Color, Object, Frame, Flash animation. If you haven't got these icons I cannot see how the program works at all. (I also have certain computer skills that lead me to that conclusion)

Thanks for the info. I have the six vertical items, but I was looking for the Objects, etc. in a more obvious place as it was in VS Pro X2 under decorations. If they had provided a manual, I would have found it there, or eventually through probing.

You don't need a manual actually as like most Corel products the help files are a copy of the manual the manual. (I would expext to see a manual shortly available on line though) If you go to the help section by clicking the little circle of dots with the down arrow in the centre that is to the left of the minimise - and click "Launch help" the type in the search "Interface" (I chose that word as being the most obvious to me) it opens a screenshot of the x3 interface and you will see there item 8 is what we are talking about. As you say it takes a little probing but personally I find I learn better that way. But then I'm well past my three score years and ten so I am getting a bit old fashioned. My type of logic is not very modern.

If they put every button in "an obvious place" they would take up the entire screen. Sometimes you have to use common sense, sometimes you have to hunt and peck. But all in all, it's really not that difficult. :?
