TS and tp files crash Ulead x2

Post by brianchew »

Im using Hauppauge HVR-2250 tuner and beyondtv to record and it records shows to a TP file. but Ulead 2x wont see the TP file so I was told to change the extension to a TS file. So x2 sees it now but when I try to edit out commercials and render it the whole thing crashes. Any advice?

I use a small freeware program called HDTV2mpg2 to convert my own .tp files to a format VS will recognise. I am sorry I don't have a link for the program but a Google search will find it...

I have also successfully used the retail program VideoReDo, which not only recognises it, but also does the necessary editing of commercials. It costs around US$50.

Hey Ken

thanks for the info. Its frustrating that I would have to add another conversion step in my process but oh well....VS ever going to make an upgrade on this? Its funny they would leave out such a popular video file format

In fact. transport stream has never been flavour of the month with VS, or with many other NLEs... Not sure why, and I agree that they should think about it... But there is probably some technical explanation... :?:
