Video Studio X3 and Burger transitions

Post by Roberto »

Hello,

did anybody try to install the Burger transitoin on VS X3 ?
I just copied the .vfx but they do not appear in the transition list... with VS X2 they were corretly recognized.

Thanks for any help

LAST MINUTE UPDATE: once installed a new group is not created like in VS X2, but the transitions are still available under the group ALL...

Not quite right and not quite wrong either.
I had previously thought that my Hollywood FX transitions had not been recognised, but after reading your post I discovered they are.
:D

It would seem that there must be a limit on the number of "Directories" that VideoStudio can create in the library manager, but as you have discovered, even if they do not have a directory all of their own, they are still present when you select the ALL option.

Here is the library on my laptop. The strange one you can see at the bottom was a test file that Corel created during Beta Testing of the "Get More" button. Strangely - despite removing the beta version before installing the public release version the test file must have remained on my laptop - hence there is still a directory for it.

Compare that screen shot to the other one which is my installation on my desktop computer. Here you will see Hollywood FX listed as a directory.
Whilst the directory is absent from the laptop, the transition icon is present (and working) in the ALL directory.

The same happens with Adorage Prodad plug-ins.
I bought them at the time I used X2, and after installing X3 and running the Adorage plug-in setup file, nothing apperaed... except I discovered the plug-in is in the ALL group.
Actually that wss the thing that moved me to find where did it disapperead... becaseuse I payed for them and I did not want to contact Adorage customer service again (which is absolutely terrible...).
So, once I doscovered the "new" location of Adorage plug-in, I also was pleased to find there Burger plug-ins too :-)

Does anybody knows how to create a new directory ?
Mmmmh... maybe I will add something to the X3 future product wish list... ;-)
