Very nice. Glad to see they are working on these things.

Look at me, I don't care about EXIF but I'm still downloading the darn thing. :P Oh well, at least it works. Thanks, sjj1805.

X3 CoreImageFormats.dll EXIF Fix

Post by Tadjio »

Thanks very much for posting this fix.

It will save me a lot of heart-ache caused by posting photos without the EXIF, most especially the Date & Time taken.

I was on the verge of givcing up X3 and reverting to X2Ultimate...
:D

(Oh and now I can change my sig. too :)

I suggest that anyone who wants to use this fix firstly makes a back up of the existing file

C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Photo Pro\X3\PSPClassic\CoreImageFormats.dll
and then you can download and replace it with the one from my skydrive online storage account.

Usual warning about you do this at your own peril etc. but like I said, I tested it and it works.
Thanks a bunch!!

Now I can chill out a little and hope some other things get fixed in due course, but this was a biggie for me.

X3 exiffix works

Post by Tadjio »

Just to confirm in the cold light of day on a Monday morning:

The X3 exiffix works.

I have compard the EXIF data from my original JPEG with that output by X2 and X3 and the X2 and X3 information is (almost) the same.

There is a little variation regarding some of the more esoteric data, including "Exposure Program" and "Metering Mode" where X2 and X3 don't quite agree. If anything, X3 is slightly improved here.

Of course both X2 and X3 do not include the "Makernotes" section at all.
I compared using the Exifer program.

Thanks again, Steve.
