Re. my last post (Create Disc Preview Problem resolved) I spoke too soon! After working on a project (.VSP file) for about 40 mins the programme halted then produced the dreaded Blue Screen. I re-started the computer and opened Windows in normal mode. Windows prompted me to ¡¥find a solution to the problem¡¦ and came up with ¡¥driver for Raid controller missing¡¦ and linked me to Intel¡¦s website for a download. This I duly did and then re-started the computer etc. I ran VS for about 10mins and the same crash occurred again ending with a Blue Screen. After re-starting again I checked in Windows ¡¥event manager¡¦ and the error event details pointed to VS.
All other applications appear to be working properly including VS 11.0 Plus.
I am out of my depth with this one. Has anyone got any ideas?

Just so people don't have to go seaarching for your previous post (as I did!
), here it is -- and it was solved by an update of DirectX:
While that is, of course, completely do-able, in the past we had a lot of people having a whole lot of problems doing things that way. So we had (and to an extent still have) a habit of recommending that users having trouble at that stage of the burning process, try a different workflow. That is, of course, based on the further assumption that you are burning a standard DVD...
Finish your editing, then choose Share > Create Video File and then choose either DVD if your project is an hour or less long; or 'Same as Project Settings' if you know those settings will produce a video of a size that will fit on a disc and they comply with DVD standards; or Custom if you want to fiddle with the settings (though ensuring they are still within the international DVD standards). Give the new clip ("title") a name and let the program do its thing.
Then when you have your new DVD-compatible mpeg, start a new project. Don't bother giving it a name or anything. The objective is just to clear the timeline of your existing project. Then select Share > Create Disc > DVD. The burning module will open, and you use Add Media to insert your new mpeg-2 in the burning timeline.
Click on the middle of the three icons in the bottom left of screen, and ensure the box beside 'Do not convert compliant mpeg files' is ticked. Then build your menu and burn. Using this workflow, you should not reach a step where the program is 'converting title' since the title (i.e. the mpeg-2) you produced is already DVD-compliant and needs no converting.
At least give that a go and see if it makes any difference...
As for your latest problem, you kill us with kindness (NOT!) with the amount of information you provide about your project. However, if I read it in association with your earlier post, I suspect you are actually burning the VSP file after editing, without first creating a video file (Share > Create Disc, instead of first choosing Share > Create Video File). Is that correct? When in Create Disc and having added a video file to the clip board the preview screen remains greyed out and the Preview function on the Next page will not work. On my previous version 11 the preview function works properly. I downloaded VS ProX2 as an upgrade but my download speed can be quite low (30-50 kb/sec). Could there be a problem in the installation? If so is it possible to re-install? Everything else seems ok other than when exiting (having saved my .VSP file) I get a message saying the programme is not responding and do I want to close. When I next start VS it asks if I want to restore my previous file- suggesting that it hadn't closed properly.

VS Pro X2 Crash after resolving Create Disc Preview problem.
Thanks for the advice, Ken. In fact I always create a video file before going into Create Disc, so don¡¦t think that this is the source of my crash. Sorry I didn¡¦t explain that I was editing a series of still images in the timeline (adding transitions, rearranging order etc) i.e. working on a .VSP file in edit mode when the crashes occurred. I was not sure whether to post as a reply to my original query or raise a new topic since I don¡¦t know if there is a connection.
