Hello. This is NOT A RHETORICAL QUESTION. Why in the world is the best damned DVD authoring program being tossed aside for a poor substitute like Movie Factory????????????????????????????????
WHY? Why don't they stay with a total winner? I mean, what the hell is the thinking here?
Anyone?
I can't stand it anymore!!!

Silly me, and I always thought you made money by selling quality. Sorry, I just don't buy your logic. The program is done for crying out loud.
How can it be more cost effective to reinvent the wheel instead of expanding on greatness. Especially when the wheel you are reinventing is a square one called DVD Movie Factory!
EDIT : BTW, I don't care what they call their product. How much trouble would it be to at least include all the features of Workshop in that kids program Movie Factory.

No Coral basically hit the nail on the head. Money dictates what a business can continue to offer. DVD WS2, MSP8 cost more than DVD MF. I would suspect they were not getting enough sales of those programs, compared to sales of the lessor programs of DVD MF and VS.
Now the real kids program would be DVD Factory 2010, not DVD MF. Yes they got worse. However it seems they want to drop DVD MF for the real kids program DVD Factory 2010.
You of course are aware that Corel was in some financial difficulties. Enough so, that they sold off all remaining shares to Vector Capitol. If things are going great, they can afford to keep all products, why would that happen?
