VS X3 and internet connection

Hello,

I read that VS X3 has some "buttons" to catch from Corel website additional resources (am I right?).
So, I just wonder what will I miss if I install VS X3 on a PC that is not connected to Internet ?

Templates, decorative fonts etc. And I don't think there is any alternative method of "Getting More" of such content for X3, either now, or future packages, without an internet connection...

I will set up everything accordingly.
Btw, I am curious to see about the X3, because my current X2 project crashes during the rendering around the middle of it (whole movie is about 12 min and it is mostly made with AVHCD .m2ts files) and I hope the X3 can work a bit better...

That sounds like you might have some corruption in your file.
Have you experienced this problem with any other projects?

Well... this is the first project made with ACVHCD files. Previous projects were just done with AVI files and no problems were met.
I will try some more tests in the next days, and also check if things become stable with VS X3.
I agree with you about the files, in fact, if the problem persists with VS X3, I will check if the crash always happens in the same point or not.
In the worst case, I will create partial rendered files and then string them together...

Unless you have already carried out your wish, expressed in your system details, of buying a new computer 'in a couple of days', then your four year old one is probably not up to the job of editing, let alone playing back, AVCHD. For that you need at least a decent Core 2 Duo. The old P4 3.0 GHz with hyperthreading could edit AVCHD using SmartProxy, but cannot play it smoothly ever... Anything less than that, forget it...

Finally everything is setup with my new PC and VS X3.
Tried to render the same project (mostly AVHCD files from Panasonic SD20) that crashed with X2 (same PC).
Result is clean and ok.
Two thumbs up for VS X3 editing & rendering!

Btw, without a internet connection, the installation failed because MS NET 3.5 SP1 was not installed and the installation procedure stopped with a generic failure message. Once enabled the connection, evrything was installed smoothly
