Yes, in fact on my Desktop computer they are located on drive D
on my laptop computer they are located on an external USB drive M.

Not at my own computer right now I have had to grab the following screen shot from another post
Image

Look at the bottom left and you can see an icon with a sort of "S" shape and the words "Smartsound Quicktracks" - click that button and a pop up window appears. there are some tabs, on one of those tabs you are able to alter the location of where you have placed your smartsound files.

Thanks for your reply.

I tried that. During the Ulead X3 installation Smartsound creates the folder :
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SmartSound Software Inc

I made a folder on my E-drive, changed the "Set Copy Destination" and copied the contents from the original folder. Then I deleted the soudfiles from the first folder on my c:drive.

Now, when I want to use Smartsound in Ulead the "Add to Timeline" button is greyed out. In other words. Quicktracks is still looking in the original folder.

Hi

Select the SmartSound Quicktracks below the play Selected Music

Takes you to a window to display the folder locations and possibly to add a folder
Not used this option myself, let us know how you get on¡K.

Thanks Trevor. I tried that. Looks like the new folder is only for addtional files.

I have little spaced left on my C: drive and the smartsound files are rather big.

I have my smartsound music files stored on another drive in a folder along with the Library enablers. I just created a path to that folder as Steve said with all the smartsound files in it and viola. On the smartsound subject, I have 50 or so libraries and X3 magically found and installed them all without any action on my part. This was a pleasant surprise. After I created the path to the sound files it's all up and running. Less than a minute invested. MAJOR improvement over adding each library individually!!!

But I will continue to use X2 to author DVD's using video created and edited in X3. What were they thinking with that burn module? That has to be up there with the most stupid thing I have ever seen in the history of VS. My god what are they smoking up there in Canada? But I found the other features of X3 worth the price. I have been authorised by Corel to inform our Web Board Members that Corel are aware of the problems and feelings towards the new Authoring Stage. Discussions have taken place involving Corel, Ron, Ken and myself and a solution is being worked on.

Please hang in there while Corel try and resolve this issue. Rather than a quick overnight fix that turns nasty, it is better that Corel spend a little time getting this solution right.

I cannot go into details at the moment because a number of alternatives are being considered and I would not wish to mislead or confuse our members.

Thanks Steve. I do find that a lot of thought went into X3 and it is improved in a bunch of critical ways IMO. I have no problem buying the upgrade for 69 bucks. I'm just sorry that you guys have to do the RD for free but I do appreciate it. :) My work flow of rendering video and then creating DVD's makes it not that big of a deal to create in X2, it's just a little shocking at first what they decided on, especially considering that you guys warned them during beta testing. Well I can't know what goes on behind the scenes.

Thanks again to all of you mods here for your continued work. Without this board I believe VS would wither away and die :)
