VSX3 Activation

Post by Accolades »

Hi,

Downloaded and ran trial and found working fine.

Purchased ONLINE and was issued serial.

So far I have been unable to activate/register the trial version!!

Thanks to Corel Support I was issued another download link and instructions for uninstalling file.

Uninstalled and installed new version (few bytes difference) added tme serial in the install and all went well...

V13.6.0.272

Started program and asked for activation and whammo!!! invalid serial !! :-(

Ignored message and found info on the version I am running. This displayed the serial nimber I was issued with.

Closed and re-opend program and was again asked for activation with same result!!

I must thank Corel for being prompt with replies but one that worked would be nice!!

Apart from this issue all is well.

Still have issues uploading to Youtube so i create vid and use browser to upload.

Hopefully Activation will be fixed soon.

FWIW, somewhat embarassingly for Corel, I am currently going through the same experience!! As is, I think, Ron... We too are looking forward to a solution so that we can again have a functioning version of the program to be able to help out here...

Strange with the TBYB version I found Uploading to You Tube the best bit in the HD department. Worked perfectly for me with no hassle. Very short vid here:

Dear Mr/ Ms Barnes,

Thank you very much for your e-mail.

We are unable to generate an Activation Code for some reason. This may be due to the trial version that you installed. Kindly remove the trial version completely first following these instructions below:

1. Download and install the Microsoft Windows Clean Up utility. This will remove all registry keys associated with the VideoStudio 13.0 install process:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -us;290301

2. Run the Windows Clean Up utility; Click Start >> Programs >> Windows Install Clean Up. Highlight VideoStudio 13.0 from the list of products. Click Remove. Click Exit when done.

If an error occurs after clicking the remove button, just click Ok to ignore and exit the utility.
Windows 7!!!!!!

3. Delete the following folders/directories:

C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 13\
On Windows 7:
¡E C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio\13.0

4. Go to C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\ and delete the {F0FDF9C9-1DDC-401F-B638-36F1CAE8A875} folder.

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information\ and delete the {F0FDF9C9-1DDC-401F-B638-36F1CAE8A875} folder

5. Go to Start >> Run and then type: regedit
6. Hit "OK" to launch Regedit window.
7. Go to "My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio"; delete the folder "13.0"

8. Go to "My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio"; delete the folder "13.0"

9. Close the Regedit.
10. Clean up temporary files and Recycle Bin by launching the Disk Cleanup from Start menu >> Programs >> Accessories >> System Tools >> Disk Cleanup.

Download the program from the link below and use this new download file to re-install the program then use the serial number I gave from my previous e-mail to complete the process.

Before downloading, please temporarily disable firewall, antivirus & spyware applications. If possible use a download application software that has resuming capability(ex. download accelerator). Please keep a copy of the download file for your future use.

Man, That looks exactly like an email that I got from another editing software company. I never did get the software to work so in fear of 30 days passing and thereby unable to get a refund, I came to VS X2.

We used it to remove our beta versions during testing.
Put simply ..... it does what it says on the can - it works.

I ran Ron's utility and it seamed to work but did not.
I have X2 installed on this system. It works fine.
My initial install of X3 was running including prompting me for serial number.

This particular machine has been unstable of late and during the install, Windows XP SP3 trapped during the install and I had to reboot.

Now, if I attempt any X3 install it never prompts for a serial number and when it gets to 60% of whatever it's doing, it says:

"Installation not completed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time please run setup again. Click finish to exit the wizard."

Any ideas?

I've had aborted installs of other products and when I attempt reinstall of those, the install "remembers" where it was and merrily continues.

TIA,
Walt

What prompted you to uninstall it? Just curious, if it was crashing or you had not received the Get More/Do More function yet?

I know on my desktop (WinXP HP SP3) and laptop (Vista HP) I've ran the clean-up utility several times, and the only problem I encountered was that it froze up once. I simply killed it, re-booted my machine, and re-ran it.

The utility should remove all instances of any of the programs it is designed for, from the registry. You might check your registry to see if you have anything left from VS Pro X3.

Hi, Ron.
Like I said, XP crashed during the install. When I restarted it from the CD, it just crapped out with the same message in my previous post.

Only software I can see in the registry is Ulead 11 and Corel VS 12.

I still have both of these running fine on this system.

I'm kinda stuck at this time. :(
