Paint Shop Pro X2 v12.5 won't start - OEM HP Laptop

Hi All,

I recently bought a new HP laptop, with win7 Pro, and to my delight Paint Shop Pro X2 was pre-installed. The first time I tried to load the software the program never loaded and informed me of an APPCRASH. I searched in vain via google and some other tech boards but have as of yet come up empty!

I was hoping someone here would be able to help me diagnose and most importantly repair the problem! Corel wanted to charge me a per incident fee ($15) with no guarantee that they would be able to solve the issue? I also recently received an offer to upgrade to X3 fr $19.99 and thought that might be a better solution, but am afraid that I will still be unable to boot up the software? If anyone knows how I can uninstall and then reinstall this software ( I didn't opt for the recovery discs, but this must be somewhere on the recovery partition, no?) I would be happy to attempt that...

I am working on a HP i7 quad core, windows 7 pro machine with 8gig ram, 1 gig video memory. If you need anymore specs, please let me know. Thanks for your help in advance!
