I am using VideoStudio X2 Pro version and I am attempting to edit a HD video which are encoded in H.263 format and are of the resolution 1280x720 at 59.94 frames per second (fps) with interlaced frames.
After a simple test to just include one video in my editing project, I go to create a video file. I can then choose any format file for output and I get a produced video which has the video playing back at 2x the rate as which it should be. For example, the original video would be 60 seconds long and the produced video will be 60 seconds long but the video will play in 30 seconds time while the audio will playback in 60 seconds time.
Additionally if I change to the "project" playback mode in VideoStudio, it gives me the same symptoms and the video plays 2x the speed as which it should.
I know that my original input video is alright because I can play it back either in Windows Media Player or in VideoStudio using the "clip" playback feature.
Some of the specs for my computer and project are:
I have a Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 2 GB of ram. I have an ATI HD 2400 Pro video card. I am running Windows 7 x64 version on my computer. However, I also have Vista 32 Home Premium version which is does the same thing on.
My project settings are using the "MPEG template" at a resolution of 720x480, Lower Field First, 29.97 fps, using the NTSC DVD compression settings. I also have the SmartProxy feature turned on.
Any help would be grateful as this problem is driving me crazy.
P.S. I know that the software works fine on other AVCHD content videos because I can record various HD videos at any resolutions using 30 fps progressive frames and the video software handles it just fine.

I am not sure about X3 as I have never had any true 720p video to experiment with. As for a refund, you would have to approach Corel about that, and it would depend among other things, I would think, on how long ago you bought X2. As for a free upgrade, well, good luck, but again that is in Corel's hands...

60 fps is true progressive "p" video. When the speed is given as 29.97 fps it is interlaced ("i") video... With interlaced video, it is broadcast in two fields, Upper Field First then Lower Field First, and bringing those fields together to form one frame reduces the overall speed by half. True progressive video broadcasts as a full, entire frame at 59.94 fps, which is the reason for its higher quality...
