Basic Menu Creation

Post by bgunder »

I have just upgraded to WS2 and am having a problem that must have the most simplistic answer that I most likely will be embarrased once I learn the answer.

I want to create a custom menu using one of the supplied motion backgrounds, a still image and then text buttons. Adding the motion background works fine. But when I try to add the still image, it is forced to full screen and replaces the background. No sizing handles are available and a right click shows all options greyed out.

Help!

In the MENU step, near the top left corner, there are 3 tabs -- MENU/Button/text -- click on the Button tab, then drag your image onto the menu :)

Hi,

Most likely you are in *Menu* mode rather than *Movie* mode.

Select the clip button to make the buttons form movies.

In the chapter view you can make them from chapters.

Thanks!

Your suggestions were "spot on" and all is well at this point. I have not used DVD WS V.1 for some time, so I can not remember if this was done differently or not, but a footnote in the manual would seem to be in order to clarify things for those whose brains function (not?) as mine does.

Now I have just a few things to clean up and it's off to burning!

Thanks again.
