I am also not very impressed from the new version of VS. The new effects are nice but it is not enough. I liked the pervios versions. I started with VS8 and ended at VS10+. I just tested the trial versions of X2 and X3.
I am hesitating to change probably into direction of Mac.....
I cannot understand (not only at Corel) why they cannot continue on well accepted formats and improve them, without steps backwards.

I have been authorised by Corel to inform our Web Board Members that Corel are aware of the problems and feelings towards the new Authoring Stage. Discussions have taken place involving Corel, Ron, Ken and myself and a solution is being worked on.
Please hang in there while Corel try and resolve this issue. Rather than a quick overnight fix that turns nasty, it is better that Corel spend a little time getting this solution right.
I cannot go into details at the moment because a number of alternatives are being considered and I would not wish to mislead or confuse our members.

Great shame on the DVD Creator
Yah! I am a long time user of VS and shame they have make the DVD creator a shamble, so many great function in VS 12 and also DVD Movie Factory upto 6 and even 7 but now they wipe it off with a very sequential base interface. So boring and like keeping us lining up in a queue with no options to choose to add or remove or edit. What a shame. I will not recommand it for DVD production but would like the many new and improve function on the video editing mode. But after using some other editing software for a while I found that I like the new Cyberlink PowerDiretor 8. Well can't complaint much to say I still like the DVD production editing tools of VS 12 or older DVD production of Ulead. Shame on you Corel for makiing life hard creating DVD.javascript:emoticon('
