Carry out all editing in X3.Then go to Save Video file and choose Blu-Ray. Open VSx2 (Need to shut down X3 first!). Insert resultant MPG file into timeline, Go to Share then Create Disk then Choose Blu-ray then opt for Create folders. Check resultant MTS file in WinDVD9 plus. If all is well burn the BMDV folder as data to a DVD (No more than 30 mins long on a standard DVD) and I find the result excellent. No blips at all even with 3D transitions which I don't normally use but did so for testing purposes. Am now wondering if the upgrade price is worth it. On the plus side I find x3 handles HD much better than x2, there are no blips and I haven't as yet had a program crash

VS x3: Creating a Blu-Ray folder
Although it has been said in a previous thread that x3 will create a Bly-Ray folder I can't get othan a choice after Share > Create Disk of DVD Disc or AVCHD. If I choose AVCHD there is no way to create the AVCHD folder to save to HD. The only way i have achieved the creation of the folders is as follows:
Carry out all editing in X3.Then go to Save Video file and choose Blu-Ray. Open VSx2 (Need to shut down X3 first!). Insert resultant MPG file into timeline, Go to Share then Create Disk then Choose Blu-ray then opt for Create folders. Check resultant MTS file in WinDVD9 plus. On the downside I would be buying two chunks of the program that I will never use. The ridiculous authoring part and that silly little program Video Studio Express 2010. Ido hate the blips in VS x2 though. Seems a lot tppay just to solve a bug

Unfortunately that seems the way Corel handles bug fixes.Seems a lot tppay just to solve a bug
Again, I can only stress that these sentiments need to be conveyed to Corel. It is time for them to straighten up their act or they will lose customers in droves.

We could try again, what was tried when they dumped DVD WS2, and MSP. People done just that. We even had Tobie Openshaw, who so far is one of very few former Ulead employees still working for Corel, on our side, reportedly arguing to keep them. Still they do what they want, regardless of the outcome.Again, I can only stress that these sentiments need to be conveyed to Corel. It is time for them to straighten up their act or they will lose customers in droves.
It boils down to pure arrogance, which eventually bites those in their arrogant behinds..

I don't mean just about sounding off about our wants and needs, or complaints. But the fact that if things are going to take a step or two backwards, as the burn module has, then it may be time to take your money elsewhere. I, for one, am leaning in that direction...

I have thought in that direction too but as far as I am concerned, I have been learning VS during most of 2009 whilst somewhat incapacited. I am now well on the road to recovery and am nearly fully mobile again so will soon be back to the actual sharp ending of taking video clips. I am loath to start over with new software plus having looked around there does not appear to be another software Forum that comes anywhere near this one for the depth of knowledge of its members and the way that those members share their knowledge so freely and in such a friendly manner. That has a value too! You are a big part of that JeffBlack Lab wrote:I don't mean just about sounding off about our wants and needs, or complaints. During Beta Testing I did manage to create an AVCHD folder - didn't try Blue Ray because I don't have a Blue Ray burner.
Unfortunately All the Beta Team (Basically comprising of the Administrators and Moderators from this Web Board) no longer have VideoStudio X3
We discovered at the turn of midnight last night that when we went into February 2010 our Beta Version stopped working.
Nice that.... they gave us a time limited copy.

You are exactly right Steve. The way they treat their customers is ____ (insert adjective).
And John, you are correct too. One of the reasons I chose VS many years ago was because of the help I could get from the forum. But, as you say, $100 for a serious bug fix and a few bells and whistles? Not from me.
