Does anyone know how to build a location map video? I want to make a short clip that starts with a birds-eye view then zooms into the exact location. I can not hire a plane so I plan to use Google Earth or MapQuest and combine with my recorded footage.
Example. 123 on ABC Rd.. The clip starts with pic of the earth, or state, or city, then zooms into exact location, 123 ABC Rd. Showing buildings, cross streets and area if possible. Thanks in advance.

The most obvious way I can think of off the top of my head would be to use a third party program which can do a video screen grab. I think Camtasia is one such program. That way you could start Google Earth (or whatever) going from its default screen to your chosen target and record it in video format. You might then have to crop a little around the edges to get rid of menu bars etc...

location detail
You could then zoom in/out with Google Earth to get what ever detail you want and take a screen shot of that via save as still image.........Ken V

The only smooth way to do it with Google Earth is to purchase the Pro version which includes a function that records a video as you zoom in/out or move from A to B.
With the free version you have to do the best you can with a screen recording program like Camtasia Studio but the results will be a little jerky.
An alternative approach is to do something like this:
Video: Google Earth
