VideoStudio X3 Burn Problem

Post by misty »

I cannot get VideoStudio X3 DVD Factory Pro 2010 to run. BurningApp.exe terminates with a C++ runtime error in mscorwks.dll a few moments after I bring it up. This happens all the time. I don't think Corel is going to sell many copies of this puppy.

I am running Windows XP Service Packs 1,2,3 with latest DirectX on a GF8200A v1.0 motherboard with 4GB memory, 2 WD 500GB drives. I turn off my virus protection and DLS modem when rendering or burning video files.

VideoStudio X2 runs just fine on my computer so my work around is to edit with X3 and generate an MPG file that I then burn with X2. Another reason I burn with X2 is I like the menu templates it offers. X3 template choices are very limited.

Does anyone have the link to Corel Customer Service so I can make them aware of these issues? I poked around on the Corel website but could no way to send an e-mail to Corel.

If you register your Corel products you usually get your own profile and there is also the support link.

Corel Support

Thanks E.T.

I did register both copies of VideoStudio, x2 and x3, and I set up an account when I bought them. However, when you log in to your Corel account and click on Ask a Question, you get a screen that has no option for inputting a question on line. On line all you get are answers to questions you have already submitted. Maybe you have to submit all questions by phone.

There is a telephone number, 1-800-772-6735, which I'm going to try.

Ron,

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll start with Corel's live chat on Monday. In the meantime, I'm going to give re-installing X3 a whirl.

This problem with mscorwks.dll in BurningApp.exe is a little wierd because my GF8200A mother board has a built in NVIDIA GeForce8200 processor that VideoStudio X3 is designed to use.
