I recently had to reininstall Windows XP Pro SP3, due to a malfunction with the hard drive.
When trying to re-install Win DVD8 Gold, the installation dialogue box comes up on the screen, but then freezes.
The only way to get rid of the installation dialogue box is to run Task Manager and close it from there.
There is nothing wrong with the CD Rom ( which is the genuine article ) as I have tied it on several other PC's and it works fine.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this problem, could it be something to do with Windows Installer ?
WIN DVD8 will not intall in XP Pro SP3
