Could some kind soul please inform me...what does this mean, Required Menu Space'...when i come to place my video menu just before i burn with VS10+ - i notice the menu appears very shakey.
The required menu space often says, ' required menu space 204 (MB )..or another time when loading in a slightly longer or shorter video menu..may say, 211(MB) etc
Just wondering - is there a special amount i ideally need to be within when creating a menu....grabbing at straws here to work out why my menu is jerky.
Any responce welcome - so long as its not patronising etc etc
cheers
'required menu space'??

If I describe a DVD menu to you.
When you insert your DVD into your standalone player - or computer you see a DVD Menu - typically one like this:

What we have here is in fact a short VIDEO.
Superimposed upon that video are "Hotspots" that look like buttons.
You can click a hotspot so that something happens, such as go to the next page, start a video playing, go to a chapter menu etc.
The file size of a menu will vary as a result of various factors. These include
1. The duration of the menu e.g. loops every 10 seconds will be shorter than one that loops every 20 seconds.
2. The amount of movement on the video (menu) e.g. a menu with one moving thumbnail will be smaller than a menu with 12 moving thumbnails.
3. Background music.
4. Background Video
5. Even on a Text Only Menu with a static background image file sizes will vary. More items on the menu take up more space just like a post on this forum, a short one of a few words is smaller than a post containing several sentances. The duration of the background music, the complexity of the background image - compare a few of your own JPG files taken from your digital camera, despite the sizes being consistent some are larger than others.
