Hi
I recently upgraded to VS9 from VS8. I need your help in the following areas:
1.) I am not able to download from DVD. (There was no problem with VS8). I get error message – “ Failed to open DVD. report ID 0x800408ff2303. I have XP Professional service pack 2, 3.0GB, 250GB HD, 1 GB RAM.
2.) I captured a film from Sony MiniDV camcorder for a duration of 2 hrs in DV1 format. I edit the file using markin and markout and saved as 10files in VSP. I combined these 10files and made a video file which showed 8.5GB. I tried to burn the converted mpg file using fit and burn option. It started conversion which read- “converting title pages”. After more than 2 hrs there was an error message – “ File size is too large to fit into DVD”. When I split the original files into 10 files using edit mean the combined 10file size remain same as original file size or does it become 10times the original file size ??? I understand that when we do editing, the original file does not change. Please let me know the correct procedure.
3.) If I choose 16:9 format, will it play on regular TV ?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Help needed with VS9 !!!!
Hi THoff,
1. This DVD is not a commercial DVD. I am able to download using VS8. Presenly I am downloading with VS8 and then edit them with VS9.
2. I assembled the 10 clips in the edit mode and created videofile from share. Does the size of these 10 clips become 10times the original file ?
3 Is there a way to download from DVD player to PC ?
Thank you
Vasan

No ! I never got a response.
I even tried to copy the VOB file and changed it to MPG. The size was more than 1.5 GB. When I opened this mpg file into VS9, it showed only 2 minutes of the video. I do not know what happened to the rest. It is still a puzzle.
During my trial and error process I found an alternate method. I played the dvd and captured thro my ATI card. The DVD I was trying to download thro VS9 is a wedding DVD made by my friend. He wanted me to edit with special effects, menu and titles.
