Stock photographers do copy/paste the list of keywords separated by commas or semicolons. Currently, adding a list of keywords, separated with commas or semicolons adds the full text, without breaking apart.
Imagine adding 30-50 keywords to each image, up to 30 images per day!
I would newer dare to use this product as my photo catalog and keywords. Based on the support level and number of bugs and other areas it is just too risky to loose all data and work put into the cataloging. Can you even export / backup the keywords + other info ? Does it work with other platforms than windows ?
I use picasa to organise - it has better ground
Hi, I am new to this great forum, and I haven't been able to read through all 10 pages with wishes for PSP up to now. I have a wish, but if it has already been voiced can the moderator then please delete this reply?
My wish would be, that if I have a picture which is composed of numereous layers, that it would be possible to mark some layers, so that they are "rivetted" together, and so that I can move that package to a new position, whereby those layers maintain there relative place towards each other, and then unmark those layers. That would eliminate the moving of one layer, then another, and positioning it precisely on the other layer. If you have to move three or more layers to a new position, then putting them in the correct relative place is very tedious.
Thanks
If I understand you correctly, it sounds like layer groups would accomplish what you are after and they exist within PSP today. Here's a copy and paste from the Help File in PSP X2 and it works the same for X3.
Grouping layers
You can create layer groups to group multiple layers together. Layer groups let you
• organize the Layers palette
• set layer properties, such as opacity and blend mode, for the whole group
• limit the effect of adjustment and mask layers to the layers underneath the active layer rather than to the entire image
• move all grouped layers together in the stacking order
• move linked layers together on the image canvas
• delete all layers in the group
Layer groups can contain raster, vector, Art Media, mask, and adjustment layers and must contain at least one layer. Layer groups can also contain other layer groups, called nested groups. If you move all of the layers out of a layer group, Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo deletes the layer group.
For information about viewing layer groups, see "To expand or collapse a vector layer or layer group."
To create a layer group
1. On the Layers palette, select the first layer you want to include in the layer group.
2. From the drop-list on the toolbar of the Layers palette, choose New Layer Group.
The layer group is created, and the selected layer becomes part of the layer group. By default, the layer group name contains “Group” plus a number (for example, “Group 1”).
You can also
Add a layer to a layer group from the Layers palette On the Layers palette, drag a layer into the layer group. (A black line shows the layer’s position as you drag.)
Add a layer to a layer group from the Layers menu Choose Layers Arrange Move Into Group.
Position a layer group within another layer group On the Layers palette, drag a layer group into another layer group. (A black line shows the layer group’s position as you drag.)
Move a layer to the bottom of a layer group Drag the layer to the second-to-bottom position, and then drag the bottom layer up one level.
Note: Dragging a layer directly to the bottom of a layer group positions it below the group rather than within it.
Create a layer group from the Layers menu Choose Layers New Layer Group, set the necessary controls in the Layer Properties dialog box, and click OK.
To remove a layer from a group
• Drag the layer to a new position outside the layer group.
• You can also remove a layer from a group by choosing Layers Arrange Move Out of Group.
To ungroup layers
• Select the layer group that you want to ungroup, and choose Layers Ungroup Layers.
Don't forget linksets Kathy. Groups automatically set-up a link with each other, though you can turn this link off if you don't want to use it. Also link-sets are great when the necessary stacking order prevents the effective use of groups, though with good planning that will rarely be necessary.
I just tried your suggestion, and you can form a group alright. It shows above the group a layer containg the representation of all layers within that group, with a little + in front. But when I want to move that group to another position on my canvas, it merges into a single layer, and all the component layers are gone. Is there something that will keep the components still as a group after moving around?
Hi, I am new to PSP, so far I like it a lot. My suggestion is, I REALLY would like the option to go back a few clicks (when using the select tool), without having to start all over again. Photo Shop has this capability I believe. This is very handy, because PSP doesn't always detect the edges as well as it should. The images that I work with are usually in the public domain, so there isn't a lot of high resolution/best digital quality.
Second, It would really be helpful, if a settings module (in preferences) can be created, to easily specify saturation levels, when using the color changer tool.

Are you using the Move tool to move the layer group? If you're trying to use the Pick tool, you will have to merge the layers but not if you use the Move tool. At least that's the case in PSPX2. I don't have X3. Another way to move the layers together is to Link them. Click the Layer Link Toggle in the Layers palette for each of the layers you want in your group and make sure they all have the same number. Again you have to use the Move tool to move them as a group.
Using Paint Shop Pro versions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 16
I never knew about this move tool, I have always used the normal Pick Tool. Yes it works, thanks so much. What else does this Move Tool do, compared to the Pick Tool?
A-4 size
When opening a new image, looking in the presets, I see only the American Letter size and some Japanese sizes, and various pixel sizes, but NO A-4 size. Can that please be included? I have installed all 4 patches identified in the Knowledge Base.
Thanks
PS To avoid double subjects in this long thread, would an abbreviated list of subjects be handy?
yogirajj just hit the delete key and it will erase your last placed point in the selection.
Sconcor, you can create that preset yourself. Just enter in the size in inches and the resolution in the new Image dialog. Click on the drop-down list and click on the save disk icon. It will ask you for a name and you can save it for A-4 and use it time and tome again. While the addition would be nice it's just not that big of a deal.
Ah, ok, I understand. I agree, it is not a big deal, but for the 480 million or so Europeans it sounds a bit strange to recalculate 21 x 29,7 cm into 8,2677 x 11,6928 inch, only because the widely used A-set paper sizes are not included in Paint Shop Pro.
Sorry for the confusion there Sconcor. I am just used to inches but you will find centimeters and millimeters available as unit choices for those who use them.
