Thank you, great help. I used my mouse to try, like Windows does. Now I also found the user guide with al the keyboard commands, very useful. :D

I would like to see some external hardware support for audio tracks (like the ZOOM R16 or similar devices) for the manual soundtrack mixdown (instead of mouse). The faders on the external console should control the levels on the VS audio tracks.

I guess that depends on your definition of motion path. X3 has a filter that mimics motion paths.

Please bring back the ability to import chapters from DVDs that is available in VS Pro X2 and not in X3. If it is possible to add that feature in the current version (X3) through a patch, that is better. I had to go back to X2 and as I use VS for collecting video clips from various DVDs. It is eary to import chapters and prune rather than the entire title.

Multi-Trim Video Arrows

Post by oka »

With the Multi-Trim Video in VideoStudio, I would really suggest that the arrows to "Go to a specific timecode" should be made at least twice or as large as the "00:00:00:00/Arrows" in the main editing panel. Most times, just by picking it, it goes from upper to lower arrow. Just too small.

Moving path

a unique filter that existed in ulead media studio and all other filter under this category must be added to newer versions

title track has to be just like any overlay tracks and accept the transitions and the filters and more than just two

Where have you been?
VideoStudio X3 HAS got a moving path filter.
Various filters can now also be applied to Titles.

I would like to be able to create a custom DVD menu template without having to use PhotoImpact. Ideally, this could be handled using images and an xml file. The xml file would contain the information such as the images used, imange placement (such as buttons, frames that outline video(s), text data such as font type, actual text, etc.). Supported images would be what is already supported by VS.

Add the option to scale GUI background through shades of grey instead of pitch black all the time.
Add option to delete clips from HDD after deleting thumbnails or have 'remove unused' button.
Add option to just have audio and video timelines instead of 'titles', 'voiceover' etc..
Leave spaces in timeline when cutting and trimming and give option to ripple delete.
These suggestions are standard options in Premiere Pro and IMO, X3 would be as good for the vast majority of jobs (at a tenth of the price!) if they were implemented.
I will not comment on the DVD templates in either X3 or PP as they are embarrassing to both.

Thanks Jeff,
Will brush up on keyboard shortcuts, have just bought VX3 since deserting (not my choice) Ulead VS6 a few years ago.
Still find 'main track' and 'overlay tracks' a bit of a faf though, surely it would be easier if they were all the same but with the option to lock if needed?
Regards,
Emerton.
