There are 2 ways to do an audio transition, although the audio must first be split from the video.

The first way is to actually overlap 2 audio clips in the same track. They will automatically crossfade.

The second is to place each clip in separate audio tracks and overlapping them. Fade out the first and fade in the second to create the crossfade.

Jeff,

I'm using CS4 and would not waste my time.
But as you already pointed out this is a consumer grade product so my requests are most likely pointless anyway.

Thank you Black Lab, i'll test as you describe. :D

First I have to solve my export problems, too many error screens and system-hangs. Even after re-installing Windows XP Pro with only CS-X3. :x

I would be happy if the product I purchased was to actually work, which it currently does not do. Please release a patch or whatever to fix the DVD burning module on X3 or show me how to apply for a refund on it.

All members of this Forum are just that , ordinary members. None of us work for Corel. So as far as a patch is concerned we have no control as to when it might be available. Refunds would be dealt with by Corel so it is best to contact them direct. Try this link;

As I can't see where you are located you may have to change your page location, the link takes you to the UK site.

Actually I would like to thank you for pointing me to the link, luckily I purchased direct from the Corel store online and they have a 30 day money back guarantee and I will be calling them from work tomorrow to initiate the refund process.

I was not actually asking anyone on the forum for a patch but I know from reading this thread that there are Corel developers who read it which is why I posted my response.

I think it is a shame that Corel have not acted faster on this product as I used VideoStudio up to version 9 and I was happy with it but it seems that Corel has dropped the ball on this one. Corel should withdraw this product from sale until they can release a version that actually can do what is advertised imo.

Whilst I appreciate that this is a consumer product, I would really like to see a 64bit release to take advantage of all my system's RAM.

Bring back HQ Playback. While the on-the-fly processing may be better in X3 it is still not as good as HQ playback, at least not on my "feeble" P4.

Well, thank you God. Somebody spotted the same.

Well, Jeff, I have C2D E8600, and guess what? It's the same. There is no processor outta here (at least not affordable) who will manage
playback of twenty half-second long clips with filter or few applied in realtime.
And if there is such processor, VideoStudio certainly isn't optimised (enough) for it's architecture.
X2 is stated "Runs great on Core2Duo" - it's written on the box. Bulls***, it barely touches more than 60% processor usage when encoding.

Please provide a way to apply a transition, of any duration (including fractions of a second), to a range of video splits or slides.

Corel VideoStudio X3 makes creating a slide show of more than a few hundred photos a very laborious process due to the fact that it cannot add more than a couple hundred photos to the library at a time. Also, it takes an extremely long time to do the actual importing. Other products allow the addition of an entire folder, and sub-folders if they exist, without limitation to the quantity of photos and are extremely quick about it.

I would be very cautious about messing around with the library manager at this time.
The main problem that we all had with VSX3 which resulted in Corel having to give away free copies of DVD MovieFactory 7SE was largely down to their "Media Manager"
Image

Thankfully we are now back to the tried and trusted library manager.

You can't copy and past text in VSX3. It's works better for me to write my text in Word (also spelling control and check text), then copy and paste to a title in VS. I hope Corel will add this possibility. :D

You can't copy and past text in VSX3.
Oh yes you can!! You need to select all the text you want to copy/paste by highlighting it, then use the keyboard commands of [CTL] + C and [CTL] + V.
