I'm not aware of any. All the ones I have used suffer the limitation I speak of.

And that is because the features you seek you will only find in professional-grade apps costing hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. Unfortunately you can't have your pie (all the features) and eat it too (at a reasonable cost).

Nothing is stopping Corel making these features?
I would think Corel profit with atleast two digit folds with VideoStudio so I can't see money being an issue. Plus, like I said: these are 1970's effects. They are hardly going to need R&D.

Re: Video Studio X3 Wish List for Future Versions
I couldn't see money being an issue when they bought it from Ulead. I also can't see adding basic video manipulation abilities to VS being a problem from a company that spends atleast 100 million per year aquring while at the same time profitting 200 million.
Ability to create AVCHD 720p/60fps
Please add the ability to author AVCHD in 1280x720p/60fps format.
This is part of official AVCHD specifications, and now more and more digital cameras are using this as native recording format (AVCHD lite).
Please add this to VideoStudio X3 and Movie Factory 7 SE.
Thanks.

Re: Video Studio X3 Wish List for Future Versions
For next gen of VS I wish:
1. get us back High Quality playback. Without that, I won't be buying next version. I already skipped X3 because of that.
2. get us programmable keyboard shortcuts. I use Photoshop as much as VideoStudio, and I use mouse just for brushing and retouching.
Everything else I do with my keyboard. At least there should be intuitive (able to do with one hand only) shortcut for switching views (clips, timeline, audio timeline),
video options, filter options, playback speed, mute/unmute....
3. color correction is pitty. Saturation dragged to +4 is already unusable. What should I do with 100? Bring that sliders sensitivity down...
4. zoom and audio micer controls should get back where they belong. Their right place can be found in X2 version.
5. transitions in overlay tracks don't use alpha channel. If I make transition (for ex: flashback) between two Flash clips, flashback effect will also be applied to background
visible from Flash's alpha.
6. X3: bring back old style icons for effects
There will be more...

Unicode support in titles appears to be patchy. I've had problems with Maltese, with some characters displaying correctly and others not. And it's not a font issue, since I'm using Calibri, which has all Maltese glyphs.nosnoop wrote:Which language have your tired?mcam wrote:Unicode support in titles.

Re: Video Studio X3 Wish List for Future Versions
Hi..
I'd love to have better control of the video clip speed. At the moment, I can set a clip to playback at a certain speed, but it's a constant speed throughout. What I want is something that will allow me to speed up and slow down the video clip smoothly, even slowing down to a standstill (to be able to produce those stylised kind of intro sequences like you see in movies such as Snatch, Enemy of the State, Oceans 11, etc).
I guess it could work pretty well as a video filter, with the usual key-frame approach where you set the speed at the key frames.
Finally, I'd like to echo some of the comments about DVD Factory Pro 2010 - it's terrible and I really hope that Corel don't see the dumbed-down interface as the way forward for the future (it's been dumbed-down so far that I can't even figure out how to use it!)
Thanks

Re: Video Studio X3 Wish List for Future Versions
Hi guys, newbie here,
In iMovie 09 when I'd add a transition, I was able to load up what they called a "precision editor" and was able to slide the transition to the left or right so as to cover more of clip 1 and less of clip 2 or vice versa. In VS x3, when I add a transition, It seems to be locked over the 2 clips. Is there a way to get the iMovie funtionality in VS x3?
Thanks.

Re: Video Studio X3 Wish List for Future Versions
Gave it a try... would love the following:
1. Special effects!
Something comparable to after effects and I would gladly pay 5 times what Corel is asking for the product.
Green screen is a must! The fancy transitions and clouds do nothing for anyone making a professional movie but I can see how they would make the average home user feel special. It's like Movie Maker on Steroids..
2. More audio tracks please. This is very limiting and I usually don't have to bounce my audio into Pro Tools but using X3 I would without a doubt.
3. NEED to be able to speed up and slow down "Parts" of clips... I did not see an option other than speeding up an entire clip. Again very limiting..
4. Didn't seem to utilize more than a few gigs of ram...
Yikes!
I am stuck with CS4 for now but I'll keep checking back for updates.

It doesn't do anything for making a professional movie because it is a consumer product. Hence the price. And hence what you get for it.

Cut the clip at the point before and after where you want the speed change.

Re: Video Studio X3 Wish List for Future Versions
I do wish to have an "audio crossfade" transition, with hard cut at the videochannel. Sometimes there is too much difference in audio in two fragments while I don't want to have an videotransition. Audio crossfade makes sounddifference smooth.
