Re: Video Studio X3 Wish List for Future Versions
1. Sorry if this has already been posted but I'd like to be able to manually rotate an object, picture or video in the Overlay track rather than stretching it to the angle you want with those green dots. Having it work in the same way you can rotate the title boxes would be perfect.
2. I did see this one but I'd like to confirm that I would realy like this as well. In the Painting Creator the ability to draw a straight line or basic shapes like circles, squares/rectangles, brackets, etc.

Just like I told the previous poster pyvoPlease use the correct address to log into this Web Board. NOT http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN. Whilst it still works it WILL cause you problems.

Steve
1000 appologies. I was not on my regular computer and quickly googled "Corel Video Studio Forum" and clicked on the first address that came back which happens to be the old phppb.ulead..... one.
Sorry again. Guilty as charged but I'd like to pass blame onto Google!
Cheers

Re: Video Studio X3 Wish List for Future Versions
The ability to schedule batch conversions would be very useful.
For example, if I populate a directory during the day with files to be converted, it would be nice to be able to schedule a batch conversion during the night when I am not using the computer.
Implementation might be as simple as:
1) provide a means to save a batch conversion template,
2) allow batch conversion to be executed via command line parameters to Visual Studio that would launch VS with the specified template.
3) The windows scheduler could then be used to schedule the batch conversion.

Have Smart Proxy run more than 1 conversion simultaneously. I have an Intel i7 processor and it only uses 1 of the 8 cores. (Add-on: allow the user to specify how many streams can be processed at once.)
Maintain separate directory pointers for each type of media (such as video clips, music, audio, images, etc). Right now it uses a single pointer and I have to keep browsing every time that I switch between media types.

Re: Video Studio X3 Wish List for Future Versions
More transition effects. It seems to me that older u-lead versions had more than just the 3 transition effects.
Most of all: quality assurance. This needs to be a stable usable product under active maintenance. It is completely unacceptable that two quicktime releases go by and there is no fix to the incompatibility (which is in itself suspicious unless the codec is misbehaving or being used improperly somehow) with QT7.6.6 and now 7.6.8 is out and same problem.
This is a consumer level video editing product. Cell phones, solid-state cameras...the list of devices which produce only .mov files is lengthy. If the product crashes, freezes and generally fails to work it is neither reliable nor available -- and therefore not worth the money. I'm a longtime user and retail purchaser of video studio in various incarnations from u-lead. The corel acquisition didn't improve the product.
Support: it is absolutely unacceptable to make me wait on the phone for an hour to report a crash dump. This is exactly the sort of problem which needs to be submitted by e-mail and answered by e-mail within 1 working day.

Have you tried -- and if so, how do you rate -- the PnP filter as a substitute???

- The ability to copy a certain attribute from a video rather than all the attributes.
- The ability to snap clips to the right not just the left.
- The ability to preview a clip in the clip bin when mouse is rolled over it.

Re: Video Studio X3 Wish List for Future Versions
I might be missing something, but it would certainly be nice to have a better, easier way to set up chapters for the menu! I was surprised to find that after spending an hour putting chapter marks on a video and carefully renaming them, when I went to author the DVD it ignored them completely. Isn't there a way to carry this information over between modules?
It would be ideal if one could just add chapter marks during editing, name them, and have that carry through and appear on the menu automatically. To ease precise chapter mark creation, it would be nice to have something like a jog wheel to find the correct frame quickly and accurately.

Re: Video Studio X3 Wish List for Future Versions
Chapter creation used to work in versions before X3. However, when Corel changed the burning module that came with X3, and further complicated it by subsequently issuing MF 7 SE, which does not recognise X3 project files, it became broken. Hopefully, though, they will have listened this time round and reinstitute the chapter function in the editing module.
That being said, I much prefer setting my Chapters in the burning module (of MF 7 SE...) But I acknowledge that may be a matter of personal preference developed in a time before chapter setting was not possible in the editing module...

Re: Video Studio X3 Wish List for Future Versions
I'm fine with either one or the other, but whichever module it is in, it needs to be easier to be quick and accurate.
Just curious, though - why is the chapter mark even available in VSX3 if it literally does nothing? Why not just call it cues and leave out the confusion? Oh well, hopefully it will get better!

VS13 WISH LIST : Insert both images and videos in sequence i
I am not sure how to post this on a VS13 WISH LIST ?
I posted this question about 2 years ago and I got as an answer that it was not possible to do. Though I am a faithful Ulead/Corel VS user since many years , I noticed recently that Cyberlink Power Director 9 does it and it is an incredible time saver for their users. So it is not a Windows limitation.
I made many extensive travel videos and each time it is a pain and time-consuming to insert each video between photos chronologically in the timeline.
The Corel developers have an opportunity to add a great feature for their users. Is there a way to get this suggestion on a VS wish list somewhere so that Corel considers it ?

My original post was as follows :
"When on a trip, we usually use our digital camera to take alternatively photos (still image) and videos (when there is motion). Inserting images first in the timeline and then inserting each videos in between at the right spot in the timeline (to retain the sequence of events) is very time consuming .
Is there a way to insert in one shot both images and photos in sequence in the timeline or storyboard ? "
Thanks for your help !Is there a way to insert in one shot both images and photos in sequence in the timeline or storyboard ? "

Re: VS13 WISH LIST : Insert both images and videos in sequen
I know what you mean, and I have a way to do this. Don't use the insert media from VS, instead press the key, on your keyboard, that reveals the windows program bar, usually at the bottom of the display for Windows. Then using Windows Explorer, sort your videos and photos in the manner that you want them inserted in the time line. Then select them all and drag-drop onto the VS timeline that should be behind the Windows Explorer window. This is the way that I do it... Al
