I agree, the ripple feature is a little clunky to use. I find it easier to have my project in the overlay tracks. I then just put a color clip in the main track, cutting out pieces or adding pieces, to force the ripple editing into the overlay tracks.

Hi,

Sorry if the following are duplicate requests but I am on VSX2 having moved up from UMSP7 and the things I miss most are:
- rubber band on video overlays (to fade in and out as I want)
- being able to set cue-points on tracks and not just on project

Also, I support previously documented wish to have the possibility to edit multi-camera footage and, finally (unless I am mistaken) I have not yet found how to change the menu images for each chapter from the first frame to a more representative frame of the chapter - as was available with UDMF5

Thanks

Hi as i am new here. here is a suggestion from me,

Please make a feature that when you add video files, instead of muting the sound on each file which could take ages if you want no original background sound of the file and have 400 clips like my holiday video did, mute all sound of all files in one click instead of one at a time. i like to add my own music to my movies without the sound i picked up from the camera

It is too time consuming muting each file.

1.Fast forward button (in various speed like mpeg vcr), in down to preview window (it helps to cut out un wanted scenes
without spending much time on time line)

2. Better Chroma keyer
3. Better fx (most of them are useless)
4. Pen tool (masking ) to cut the images as per our taste & requirement (like Sony vegas pro)
5. Already selected clip on the library should show tick mark to know it's been selected already.
5. Better colour correction (colour curves)
6. As stated like the previous poster, Option to select all clips together at once and mute it at once.

Thanks
John

I own a Kodak Playsport now, which belongs to the new generation of cams which are not prepared for the European (PAL) market, i.e. its specifications are 29.97/59.94 fps. Having both "old" cams (PAL) and this new one I have a problem with the templates to create a video. I can either install x3 as PAL or as NTSC version, but I need BOTH. Checking the program directory I found that BOTH types of templates are copied on the drive, but I can always only use one type of templates.
I would very much appreciate it if I could have BOTH, NTSC & PAL templates, so I don't need to re-install the program every time I have a different cam on.

2nd wish: Those cams use the Quicktime format, which in reality is a H.264 compression. If Corel could also add a template so I can edit these video clips 'lossless' without having to re-code them in something else?

Thanks

Please give us green screen editing and my god do I need a compressor for audio. Im currently having to load my main audio track into Nuendo.

Green screen options would eliminate having to send parts of my projects to other people...

If by green screen you mean chroma key editing, then it has been a feature of VS since at least version 10, and possibly even version 9...

And you can find free audio plug-ins, including a compressor. See the Free Stuff thread.

3 point cutting/editing

You have a cut on your time line you want to replace.

Select the In point....the Out point and the start point of the clip you want to replace from your library you have just previewed, Click "add" and VS automatically inserts the correct duration of the replacement clip without needing to ripple edit or make adjustments.

fix mp4 and other issues

Post by mangurian »

Videostudio must fix mp4 editing problems and other stability issues or I will be forced to go elsewhere.

I really like X3 and I selected it after using trial versions of X3 and other products, but it is unacceptable that I can edit a video in Microsoft's free Live Moviemaker that will not even play (much less edit) in X3. Sometimes changing the file extension to .mov will help, but usually not. The problem is mostly with HD files.

Unacceptable.........especially as we transition to all HD.

Forget adding features for now and clean up what you have.

We all transition to HD??? There's several of us that are and will be stuck in SD for some time yet.

I wish it would just work. It used to work when I had 2 cameras (1 still canon, one HD Canon Camcorder). When I added a all in one small camera with HD stills and Video it broke it. Corel admitted this was a Core i7 bug MONTHS ago and nothing got fixed.

Decrippling the ability to adjust project properties for resolutions beyond DVD resolution.

Real support for 60fps instead of modes that are buggy.

"Import project" should include detail of imported project clips in appropriate tracks - detailed explanation below.

In addition to previous pyvo requests in this chat (19th Aug 2010), and related to pyvo's entry "VSX2 Stuttered movement in imported projects" (28th Oct 2010), wouldn't it be good if it were possible to import several sub-projects (ex chapters) into a 'master' project and still be able to edit the detail of each imported clip on each track (video, overlay, titles, audio).
This WAS possible in UMSP7.0 and I found it really useful in making long projects (between 20-45mins). I still use UMSP for SD projects.

As per post of 28th Oct, VSX2 allows you to import a project into another but you only see one 'clip' on the video track and do not see the details of what the project contains. Looking at the trial version of VSX3 and the sales blurb on the Corel website, there is no mention of any changes... yet...
