Video Studio X3 Wish List for Future Versions
Every so often I have contact with a Corel employee or software engineer regarding new versions. It is always handy if I can point them to a thread such as this.
Please keep any suggestions sensible - plus this is not a place to complain about what YOU may consider to be bugs or faults. Those items should be placed in a new thread or tagged onto an existing one dealing with that same issue.
A link to the Previous wish list thread is here:

Moving Paths
Not the simplistic arrows currently in VS, but real, key-frame-able moving paths.
Multi-cam editing Function......
After capturing video from 2 or more camcorders used to record an event, you import both clips into a timeline, then create cue-marks that will have a snap-to function. The clips can be synchronized using these markers. Then using the Multi-cam function, the preview window will display both clips simultaneously, allowing you to select which parts to use at any given time. It will also display the main video, showing what the project will be. In other words it would appear like 3 PiP clips in the preview window. This is a feature/function that other competitor packages of the same price range have been providing for some time now.
Replace the ridiculous, digital studio 2010 DVD authoring utility with the previous, burn module, or with DVD MovieFactory.

My wishes:
- Remove DVD Factory and replace it with disk creation module present in X2.
- Provide a tool to migrate assets/addons from previous versions to the current one. Preferably straight from install files.
- Engage trusted users into product development from the design stage of a new version. For VS X4 that means right now. And listen to them.

DVD Factory replacement
Replace DVD Factory with disc creation module from X2... put the zoom levels back where they belong, as they were in X2...
Advisory Board
Folks,
Please drop me a private message if you would like to be involved in the future of the product. We lurk in this board and many improvements, not all, in X3 were directly from your suggestions.

and who is JP3D [We lurk in this board ] Who is we??
I think everyone in here would like to feel they could have input into improving what WAS ONCE a great piece of software but which is now (due to Corel NOT LISTENING) is half a good product and half rubbish.
All the beta testers in here had X3 early on and from what I have read told Corel it was in need of some serious change did Corel Listen??? Obviously not so JP3D (as a lady once said) Please explain[/quote]

JP3D is an employee of Corel. He is the leader of the Beta Testing Team.
Hopefully his presence has helped to confirm what I have said several times in the past that Corel DO monitor THIS thread (The wish List.)
A reminder though - only submit sensible suggestions for improvements in this thread. If you are having problems with the software or feel the members of this web board can assist you in any other way, please create a separate post in the appropriate forum. Regarding the "Not Listening" despite its release catching the Beta Team by surprise, I can confirm that we are still in discussions with Corel. They are aware of the feedback given not only by the Beta testers, but now also from the members of this Web Board. The matter is being looked at to see how the situation can be resolved. That is however a matter that should not be discussed in this thread which is as I have mentioned a wish list.
You might be interested in this thread I created a short time ago and you are welcome to debate the matter further in that thread.

Thanks for the reply Steve and welcome JP3D and hopefully a closer working relationship can be forged between Corel and the users of their products in this case VS it is, after all, the users of the products who pay for them an thus keep Corel Solvent so giving the customer what they ask for (within reason) is real good for the bottom line

A few, not to tough to implement, suggestions
Painting Creator
1. Let me draw a straight line in painting creator.
2. Could you allow for easy animation? Let me draw something, then hit "next frame" then be able to draw something else, or add to my drawing, etc. When I'm done, the frames and the paint would be compiled as a single clip.
Track editing
Let me have two Video tracks that allow for easier editing of two view/angles of a clip.
All in all, well done. I compared this with 4 other consumer apps (demos) and although there are some definate flaws, I did pick this one!

Please clarify - do you mean two "Preview Screens" so that you can view the contents of two video tracks at the same time. VideoStudio already has several video tracks.JoeShmoe wrote:.....

I would like to be able to handle the groups/directories for the filter/transitions, so that if I install a trial version, then, once expired, I will not have to see it forever in the list of directories/groups.
The fact that the new group/directory created with a trial version can't be deleted, and the only way is to re-install everything, is something absolutely annoying, like somebody here (I guess Ken Berry), in addition to me in the past, has already experienced.
And also, if some plug-ins do not create their own directories (e.g. Burger, Adorage Prodad, HolliwoodFX), then I can set up a new directory/group by myself.
