I received this software bundled in with a DVD burner I purchased. I installed it on a Win 98SE machine and used it several times with good success. Now I want to use it on my new WinXP laptop. However, upon install I am getting bizarre errors. At first it was MPEG error. I fixed this by copying the named .dll from my Win98SE machine into the appropriate directory on my laptop. That error went away, but now I am getting:
Program files\Common Files\Ulead System\DVD\uDVDBurnMgr is not registered!
And Failed to Load Template File! when inside DVD creation software.
I tried copying the uDVDBurnMgr file from my Win98SE machine to the laptop, but it makes no difference. Anyone familiar with this error and what to do to fix it? I have uninstalled and reinstalled and updated with no success.

I don't think that you can just copy files from a WIN 98 OS to a new XP OS and expect everything to work. There have been to many changes and improvements to the architecture of the OS.
If the Laptop is new and no vital files are loaded yet, I would reformat and do a fresh install of the OS and all programs. If you have vital files, do a back up first.

Reformat? This software is not worth all that trouble. The laptop is brand new and there is nothing wrong with it. Also, I did in fact copy the file that kept giving me the MPEG error from a Win98SE machine to an XP machine and the error went away.heinz-oz wrote:I don't think that you can just copy files from a WIN 98 OS to a new XP OS and expect everything to work. I talked via phone yesterday with a Ulead Tech and told him what I have tried. He walked me through a manual uninstall/reinstall, which did not fix the problem. He then told me to try what I had done before. So evidentally it was okay. However, I am still getting the strange "file not registered error". He had never heard of that. I was just wondering if anyone here had encountered this problem. If so, please respond.
