Video Studio Pro X3 Fatal Error During Installation

Did anyone install X3 successfully? I downloaded the software waited forever for the unpack software to run, entered the license key and got "Fatal Error During Installation". Is there a fix for that?

Obviously people have installed it successfully. Did you only try the install once, or do you repeatedly get the error?

Sorry, but it was not obvious. Have you contacted Corel? You might have a corrupt file.

Yes I did but no answer yet. The problem may be related that the computer is not linked to internet while the software may crash in case it cannot find the mothership. However, that would be misrepresentation on Corel's part as it is clearly stated that you do not need internet connection to either install or run the software. I wonder if they fingerprint the hardware during installation (which they should disclose BEFORE you buy the software)

I have the same problem. Stalled when it tried to install .net service pack. No response from Corel at all.

This thread is still open. Did you find a solution that you can share? I have the same problem (Installation from CD halts after some seconds of installation).

Hope there is somebody who can help!

Hello Dear Lovely Friends,

I`ve downloaded and installed Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, dotnetfx35.exe (231 MB),
and the problem is gone and Corel Studio Pro X3 installation finished successfully.
