importing templates from VideoX2 Ultimate to X3pro

Post by teleoma »

Hi everyone,
I bought yesterday the download upgrade of studio X3pro. But all the templates which are under videoX2 are not available in X3. Only a few templates appears in X3.
Is there a way to import all my old templates? A sort of "transfer content"as pinnacle has.
I have VideoX2 still installed op my PC.
Thanks for the help
Regards
Martine

Steve Jones in another thread wrote:In defence of the beta testing team, we DID point out to Corel that we all thought it was poor and requested they return to the traditional authoring module that has existed for as many versions of VideoStudio that I have owned.

Having said that, I must add that some of the new Menu Templates ARE impressive but they are not built in the same way as previous versions.
So I will pre-empt the usual requests that always follow the release of a new version and simply say - don't bother trying to import your old DVD Menus from earlier versions - they will not be recognised.
If you really want to use X2 menus you will have to create a video file of your X3 project, then import that into the X2 burning module.

Thanks you fast help Jeff.
I had very poor results with AVCHD en BD authoring in VideoX2 (all updates installed). I am afraid that the result wil not be what I expect.
I must admit that I am disappointed with this part of video X3.

Yes we all are. I was one of the beta testers and we all expressed our dissatisfaction with it. Perhaps if everyone else does the same they will do something about it?

I posted it by technical support. I found there the following answer:

You can access the downloadable free content via the steps below.

1) Click on the Corel Guide Button.

2) Click on the Get More tab.

3) Select a style pack to download and install.

4) Click on Download Now.

I saw also a "get more" button when selecting "instant project". Clicking on it made possible to download extra content.
Going back to the guide, clicking on "get more ' and a new font contentpack to download was available.
Every time must video being stopped for installation of the packs. So far I installed 3 extra contentpacks.

Unfortunately at this point in time the Beta Testing Team are still relying upon the beta versions. There was a get more button but the amount of extra content available was small. Our impression was that Corel was simply testing that the get more button works - i.e. activated extra download links.
Mention was made to Corel that the amount of supplied content was sparse.

Hopefully the full version contains more content than was made available to the team.
