VS x3 Installation problem

Post by mitchell65 »

A few minutes into the installation procedure I get this message:
Image
I can find the HKLM folder but no idea how to carry out the instruction. I click OK and the installation continues for a few minutes then announces a "Fatal Error has occured. The program is not installed."
Any ideas?

My guess is that you need to install the .net framework from Microsoft again... Al

Thanks forthat Al. I agree, this machine has had a few glitches lately and think it is due for a format and windows re-install.

Firstly make sure that this directory exists on your computer
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\

If not then you need to install the .net framework from the Windows Update Site.

If it does exist then copy the following into Windows Notepad and save it with a "reg" extension - example netfix.reg
Double click the file (netfix.reg) and say yes when asked if you wish to add the entries to the Windows Registry.

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework]
"InstallRoot"="C:\\WINDOWS\\Microsoft.NET\\Framework\\"
