Video fade out option on Video Studio 10

I made a video and when my end credits fade, I wanted to have the video fade to black. I saw a video fade button and when I pressed it and played back the portion I wanted to fade, it didn't work. I selected the section I wanted on the timeline but still no luck. Any suggestions are appreciated. BTW-great forum! I'm learning a lot. Very helpful posters.

Are you sure that wasn't the fade button for the audio? Was it alongside the audio to the right of the little speaker icon with a cross through it just below the word "Attribute" ?

Ya know, now that I think of it, it may have said attribute. Since it was there under edit and not audio, I assumed it was to fade the video.
