Effects / transitions crash X2

Post by cmfslc »

I'm stumped.
I've searched this forum for over an hour. Maybe I'm searching for the wrong thing.
All of my transitions still work fine in VS9. Not in X2. Even without any clips loaded in the timeline, X2 crashes whenever I preview any of the following transition effects:

Film
Barn Door
Cross
Flap A
Flap B
Turn Page
Zipper

3D
Accordion (doesn't crash. doesn't work)
Barn Door
Blinds
Gate
Slide
Split Gate

Clock
Quarter
Side

FX
Burn

Peel
None of them work

Wipe
Puddle

I've updated DirectX to Aug 2009, I've replaced flash.ocx with earlier and later versions. I've uninstalled and re-installed all Ulead programs several times. Not sure where to turn next. Please help!

I have:
Windows XP S3
AMD Athlon XP 2400+
ASUS A7N8X Motherboard
NVIDIA GEFORCE 6200
2.5 Gig Ram
160 Gig HD with 100 gig free

Hi

and do you get any error messages.

Have you tried restoring the library back to its default.
Go to Tools Library Manager-Reset Library

Thanks for the suggestion. I reset the library. Didn't help.

A "Barn Door" error message says:
AppName: vstudio.exe AppVer: 12.0.0.0 ModName: vfx32.dll
ModVer: 8.0.0.0 Offset: 000275e1

A 3D "Gate" error message says:
AppName: vstudio.exe AppVer: 12.0.0.0 ModName: opendoor.vfx
ModVer: 8.0.0.0 Offset: 00001d21

A Peel "Zipper" error message says:
AppName: vstudio.exe AppVer: 12.0.0.0 ModName: vfx32.dll
ModVer: 8.0.0.0 Offset: 0001d880

I read a suggestion in another thread. At first it didn't work, then I added my own variation. I now have transitions!

Here's the thread:
