Camcorder recommendations please?

I apologize to all for not being more specific in the wording of my original question - I should have stated I was wanting camcorder recommendations in the price range of $3-400.00 US Dollars - After reading some of the answers this may be a better way to ask my question -

Are there any of the Canon camcorders in the $3-500.00 US Dollars price range that I should NOT consider? Does anyone have any better recommendation for a camcorder in the same price range?

I realize there will be small differences, pros and cons but I have other Canon equipment and that for the most part I have always been satisfied with their products - Thanks again in advance for any additional comments - DB

I always go for the simplest version of any camcorder so long as it takes good pictures. All the fancy things can be added in the computer when you edit, you don't need to pay extra to have them in the camcorder.
