Combining Titles on the Menu

Is there any way to not have every title/clip be a menu item? I have a project (MF6+, HD DVD) that has say 25 titles/clips, but I only want to have title buttons for perhaps 5 of them. I used to be able to combine AVI clips into one item to accomplish this, but that option doesnt exist for M2TS files (Canon HG10). If there is no way to do this, do I have to edit/combine the clips in another program first? if so, what program do you recommend for HG10/M2TS?

Have a look at a programme called Squared5
I use it for combining MT2S very simple to use and very good
A bit of a fiddle to get installed so look on there Web site for instructions

Thanks. However, I think I figured it out. Found some old postings in here. Need to export the M2TS files so they become MPG files. Then start a new project and add the MPG videos. Then i can join the videos and get access to the edit room. Quality appears to be OK on the screen, but I havent burned to disc yet.
