Combining video and audio files

Post by Larbo »

I recently received the thoughful gift of having some my old VHS tapes digitized to halt their degredation. They were supplied to me as AVI files (video only) with 2 WAV files, apparently due to AVID processing (whatever that is). I now have the task of creating DVD's from them.

With time constraints and limited knowledge in mind, I was wondering if regular consumer video editing software (the typical $100 type) would combine the files (without an additional rendering stage), allow for color correction (color temp issues) and provide basic authoring and burning tools? I had used Ulead Video Studio 6 in the past, for example, and it seemed to work well (but that was from a DV camcorder source).

Thanks.

you shouldn't have any trouble so long, should be able to do it with your old VS if you still have it.
