Once I create a video file the video jumps on about every other clip just slightly. It doesn't do it when i'm previewing the project before creating video file. I have to create video file to burn the project because it freezes every time I try to burn it directly from project w/out creating a video file, mainly because it's too big and I try to fit it on the dvd (i think).
Is there anything I can do to eliminate this slight jumping when I create a video file, this has never happened in the past?
video jumps after creating video file

With the information you provide, I am afraid it is impossible even to make a reasonable guess! Please read the stick posting at the top of this Forum -- the one labelled 'Please Read This Before Posting" and come back with the information requested -- and in particular what kind of video you are using, where it came from, what project properties you have set and what editing you did to it.

. SUBJECT: Please use a subject that describes your exact problem
2. Describe your problem: I have created a highlight film with for a sports season using X2, and all mpg files are directly on my computer's harddrive When I create a video file at the share tab (which i must do because the burning freezes when I try to burn directly from the project, the final video file has several clips that the video jumps ever so briefly. I have created numerous projects exactly the same way and have never experienced this particular problem.
3. What devices are involved and their mode of connection?:
I have one song that comes in from an external hardrive but everything else is on the computer that I am working from4. The Version of program is being used e.g. VS11+ VS11.5+ VSX2
VSX2
5. Please list all patches/updates that have been installed relating to that version of the program.
Vista Patch
6. Details of the source files.
Note: to obtain all the properties of a file, right click on a video file in either the VS timeline or library window.
mpg files and a few avi. and mov. but the clips that jump are mpg. files
Where did they originate (camcorder, internet, TV card etc)
they orginated from a hard drive video camcorder
How did they get onto your hard drive (download, firewire, USB cable etc.)
usbT
ype of video e.g. MPEG2, DV, DivX, MPEG4 etc
mpg
Video data rate
?
Type of audio e.g. LPCM, AC3, MP3 etc
mp3
Audio data rate
?
7. Project Settings
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Upper Field First
(DVD-NTSC), 4:38. PAL or NTSC
9. Did this error occur at the SHARE - Create Video Step
OR have you gone directly to the SHARE - Create Disc Step
(In other words you have a VSP file in the Create Disc Step)
It doesnt occur when you watch the project playback from the project it occurs after the create video file (in other words when I watch the created video file from the project the slight jumps are in there)
10. Error Codes (if any):
no error codes it created the vidoe file and burned to dvd with the slight peroidic jumps
I hope this helps. My only was that maybe when I create the video file and have the watch tab checked and it pauses every few clips while it is creating the file that is when the little jumps could be created by that is just a guess. Thanks

not HD sony DCR-SR40,
I'm fairly sure it has nothing to do with camera, I've been editing videos using video from this same camera in vs for around 4-5 years and have. Its kinda of wierd because not all the edited clip jump about every third one and its a very miniscule jump but being a perfectionist it bugs me. I tried burning it both ways straight from the project w/out creating a video file but it freezes every time, so the I had to create a video file and burn from that.
