Introduction

[Jack Cunningham]

I am Jack Cunningham who lives in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, about 5 miles west pf Asbury Park, NJ, and the Atlantic Ocean. My wife of 50-1/2 years and I live in a continuing care retirement community due to her severe case of Rheumatoid Arthritis.

I am a retired water engineer who graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute 53+ years ago and who was fortunate enough to be posted in Ibadan Nigeria (1970 - 1972 with wife and two children) and then for four years in the early 1980s, managing a project for the Suez Canal Authority (our daughter graduated from high school at the American school in Cairo). We lived three years in the greater Cairo area and then one year in Ismailia. After retiring in 1997, I was asked to go to Quito Exuador for a brief time where I was managing a water project for three months. My work here in the USA has been in Eastern Pennsylvania, Northern New Jersey, and southeastern New York state for various consulting firms and clients.

I am a self taught computer user although our son, who also is an alumni of RPI, is IT Manager for an engineering company in central Pennsylvania. They do not use Corel but I am able to get help from him. The conversation usually goes: "Help!" "What did you do Dad?" "I don't know." "Tell me about it."

Then after he gets me squared away, I tell him that paying his tuition to RPI is now paying dividends. That has become our joke.

My engineering company used Word Perfect, on which I learned, and I wouldn't have anything else. Our daughter says I am a dinosaur and they are extinct. But I do not like Word so here I am.
