Post by eastbayrae »

I have re-installed this twice now and when I try and start it I get the same error 1. How do I fix this?

you will probably find it easier to get help if you explained.

1. Which version of WINDVD are you installing (6, 7 , 8 ,9, 2010).
2. What operating system are you installing it on.
3. An idea of your system specs and
4. More detail on the installation process.

Without this info we will all be simply guessing.

1. WinDVD 2010 Pro
2. Win7 Ultimate(x64)
3. Dell Studio XPS 16 laptop(2.53ghz proc, 4gig RAM, ATI 3670HD video card, 500gig HDD, and 1920x1080 screen)
4. I installed it from the download off Corel's site. There was no error messages during the install. The error messages happen anytime I try and start the app. I also tried using the patch and the patch fails with an error that no install of WinDVD can be found.

WINDVD relies heavily on its C++ libraries. Can you confirm that Visual C++ 2005, has installed successfully via your control panel? It might also be worth it to download and install the latest runtime version from Microsoft. WINDVD is also very picky about video drivers. you might want to look at either making sure you have the latest video driver or checking the driver settings with regards to overlay and video output.
