Well, its a 192kbps mp3 which was used earlier in the project and rendered fine then.

Over on the Powerdirector forums i've been pointed to this thread on the Sony vegas forums: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/for ... eID=671862

VERY interesting reading for anyone having AVCHD render problems. It appears the problem could be cause by 32 bit apps not getting more than 2gb of memory address space which causes out of memory errors and crashes. I'm going to give this a go tonight if i can find what DLL's to do the fix on.

Bit of an update:

I've been playing around with the part of the video that crashes. ITs not the clip, i removed all titles and music and left that clip to render as part of the project and it did this fine.

I have also done a family holiday video which is not as long or complex and rendered fine.

I'm pretty sure the problem is with the complexity of the project (which isnt that bad to be honest) as I've rendered all the clips as a new project as well as removeing a couple of the elements from the end sequence which, on their own, render fine but not together in the project. Highly annoying so close tot he end! I'm going to look at the memory problem and see what comes of that as well as testing on windows 7 x64.
