Hello everyone,
I do a lot of video editing and now when I hit play to preview an edit the sound plays but without video. This has not been a problem for me up until recently.
It could be a classic case of my computer not running at its optimum. However I've run several measures to clean it up and overall everything seems fine.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

VS8 is a real old version, that may develop problems with more current operating systems. This can be especially true when OS updates are ran. One thing that we've discovered is some updates tend to break VS, however downloading the most current DirectX, tends to fix them. Mind you this is has to be done manually, it is not part of the automated, regular windows updates. There is a sticky at the top of this forum containing a link to MS DirectX update.
