Lost of sound in 16:9 using AVI DivX5.2.1 Codex

DVDMF4 when creating a DVD, source

Microsoft AVI,25.00 Fe,27`8.149 duration, datra 130.65kps,comression DivX5.2.1 Codex, 24bit 640x368,audo mpeg Layer-3,48khz,16 bit

When I set DVDmf4 to render in 16:9 (see below) I get no sound, if I preview inside of DVMF4 it plays fine. Any Ideas?????? The AVI file is a bit squashed horizontally, the converstion to 16:9 restores image back to the original size, but lost of sound. This does not alway happen.
