corel videostudio Pro x2 video filters

Post by fossil »

Is there a reason my brand new version of videostudiopro x2 has nothing under video filters? I have the "all" tab but there are no thumbnails. I just upgraded from 11 and this is the first time I've given this program a try. I have decorations, transitions, colors, but no filters. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

First, check in your Corel directory for the Vft_plug sub-directory to see if the filters have actually been installed. If not, you might have to reinstall the program...

Thanks for the quick response. I've looked in the directory you indicated and there are a full list of the filters, so it "looks" like they're installed. *g*

Any other suggestions or should I just go ahead and uninstall and reinstall?

Thank you.

This probably has nothing to do with your filters not being seen, however have you installed the SP1 for VS? I had a small glitch recently with the GUI part of the Chroma-key area not appearing as it should. So for grins and giggles I ran the patch, even though I had already installed it. It corrected it. If you haven't installed the patch you can go HERE to download it.

If that doesn't fix it, try first doing a repair install through the Control Panel, before completely uninstalling it.

We have success. I first followed the suggestions regarding the patch and the program fix, but neither had any effect. So I uninstalled and reinstalled the program and I now have video filters! I also went and reran the patch for the reinstalled program.

Thank you for your help. Now I can get back to work. :D
