Volume Setting

Post by Bill345 »

I created a DVD, but the sound level was too high. According to one person
there is a
distortion that buzzes the speakers even at low volumes, like the signal is
overdriving them. It sounds like the line level from your source player to your
computer was too high.
I noticed that the Volume Setting in the Advanced Audio Settings was set at 100%. I'm going to try and burn another DVD with a lower volume setting. Does this "sound" like the right solution.

The background audio was created using CDEX. I believe it was at 128kb.

If this was addressed elsewhere in the forum, please feel free to point me to the link. I tried a search, but didn't find anything.

Thanks

I suggest that you keep away other electronic devices or other gadgets that might cause EMI or Electromagnetic Interference on your PC such as cellphones, radios, etc. while working on your project. Especially your working on audio that has signals.

Hope this helps. :D

My apologies. I forgot to post my final solution.

I used Ulead's VIdeoStudio to lower the sound volume of my original recording. I lowered it down to 45% of the original level. This solved my problem. This particular work was a video file that I was adding to a DVD, along with a slide show created in the CD & DVD Picture Show project.

For slide show projects, I use the Advanced Sound option to lower my volume down to 45% for all pictures in the slide show.

This seems to solve the problem.
