Missing curser using Pro X2

Post by jaysto »

Hi,
Using the above version of Video studio i am missing the vertical curser that travels across in storyboard view. Has anyone else encountered this and if so how did they restore it.
Thank you
jaysto

HI Jaysto
If you have clips in the storyboard just highlight one of them and drag it to a different position then you will see the vertical line! As you can't really do much editing in the storyboard view you use the Preview screen and the Jog Slider to see where you are in the project. You don't see that vertical line travelling along the storyboard like the time curser does in timeline view!

Just checked and it's there on mine. However as John advised, it really serves no useful purpose in storyboard view. Is it missing in Timeline view? If not I would not be concerned about it. I might question if you've recently updated DirectX? If not there is a sticky located at the top of this forum, with a link to MS website to download it. You'll need to download the file, extract it to a folder. Create a folder to extract it to, otherwise you'll have a hundred or so files to deal with on your desktop or My Documents folder. Once extracted there will be a setup file to click on to launch the installation. Once it has completed you can delete all the extracted files.

If that doesn't work, you can try doing a repair install to see if that corrects it.

yes i have direct X updated
Did you simply check the version number or did you actually install the latest? The updates don't always change the version number.

I have had times where a cursor simply disappears off a screen for no apparent reason - this can occur at any time in any program including your web browser. Sometimes simply closing the affected program and starting it again cures the problem. sometimes you need to reboot the computer.

Computers get headaches and sometimes they need to be given an aspirin!
